First: A York Wedding Break! The palace confirmed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte WILL be in Princess Eugenie’s wedding on Friday (along with basically all the other wee royals who are big enough to walk). I’m not that surprised, but it’s nice to know for sure. (The Yorks are REALLY blowing it out with this wedding. I don’t know if I’m excited enough to stay up all night for it, but I am looking forward to seeing what Fergie does, that’s for sure.)

Second, and back to the matter at hand: Kate is at the V&A tonight to — as my headline says! — open their new Photography Centre/Center, and as is her habit for Cocktail Events, she has opted for Erdem. This feels VERY fashion-y (and also appropriately autumnal, what with the tweed), and I like it. Now all we have to do is wait for the articles about how Meghan Markle’s love of the off-the-shoulder look inspired this silhouette and we have bingo!

I also enjoyed this look from What Kate Wore about how the folks at Erdem basically mashed two of their frocks (runway, and the one that ended up in stores) together to make this one, but I think I might argue that she’s just added a belt to the runway version:

Bonus points, of course, awarded for those burgundy velvet Jimmy Choos. (They appear to be an old style, but they really remind me of these, from Barney’s house brand.)

Look at all these flashbulbs:

I worry that I would get a migraine; good thing I’ll never be in this position.

The centre/center itself looks neat (and very up Kate’s street, as she is a bit of a photographer herself, as we know, and also has an art history degree). Look at all these cameras!
