love the dress. Hate the new face.
Ditto. What’s with the face? Did she have something done? She looks DIFFERENT. (And not good different.)
I definitively detect some face freshening in the picture with the stapled-upon skirt. Now I am sad.
Love that last look!
This can NOT just be me….why does she look like she’s aged about 10-15 years in the last 2 weeks!?! She was so youthful and pretty before and she’s still pretty but all of a sudden her face just looks a little haggard. What’s up Cammie!?
Woah woah woah, picture #8, put on a bra. I don’t need to see that much saggy detail.
Did she get her nose fixed?
Is it nipple outline that’s visible in that pic? I can’t work it out. If it is, it’s a double woah woah woah with maybe an additional tuba sound at the end of it??
it is SO nipple AND surrounding area that is visible. Over 40 boobs + cold wind = very visible sad looking boobies. Come on Cam, you can afford the best bras there are!
Completely agree about the polka dot dress, sooo different for her but she looks so fresh and pretty. Totally working it.
oh, so agreed! ever since the hair made its debut, i’ve been saying SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH HER FACE! glad i’m not the only one who noticed. in the first pic of this post, her eyes are all. the. way. open. she’s usually too buzzed to do that. so maybe an eye job? or maybe just dropping the pot for a day? or maybe she’s blaming the squinty eyes on age rather than pot? still wondering. and hate the hair in the first photo, just fyi.
For the life of me I can’t figure out what she did to her face, either, but I’ll tell you one thing – it looks like she went on Zoosk and cartoonized herself. It’s not necessarily baaaaaad, but somthing has gone slightly awry.
Maybe it just needs to settle a little more, and the bob is a CLEVER DIVERSION.
I think: nose job, brow lift, major Botox around eyes and upper lip, Restylane (or similar) in cheeks and maybe a little in her lips, too?
It’s all somewhat subtle… but the thing about plastic surgery is that you can always tell. Always. Even when 100% bona fide gorgeous, like Cameron is.
In the white dress with the black cape, she looks like a WWII nurse saying good-bye to her man as he boards the train for the front. All she needs are white shoes and a nurse’s cap. Every outfit should have such a dramatic and romantic backstory.
I agree – she seems to have gotten old and haggard very quickly. And she’s starting to get Madonna arms. In the saggy boobs picture, from the neck to the hem of her skirt, she could pass as a 60 year old Harley chick.
Completely agree with you, especially on the Madonna arms (they scare me).
I love her arms. (I am a woman, by the way)
I just can’t. LOSE THE BLACK EYELINER and mascara. It is a significant part of the aging appearance.
Agreed. The makeup is very much a part of the problem. There’s less used with the final outfit of the slideshow and it’s such an improvement!
Her wardobe not “monochromatic,” meaning one color (e.g. all black OR all white); it’s “achromatic,” meaning without color (e.g. black, white, grey). Sorry to nitpick (I realize it’s super annoying when people do that), but that’s been a pet peeve of mine ever since the penguins in “Madagascar” referred to the zebra as their “monochromatic friend.” There is a distinction, and I will do my art teachers justice! Here’s a good example: http://www.flickr.com/photos/eggshells/4541758765/
Ugh, I meant “wardrobe”. That’s what I get for editing too fast.
I never knew that! Thank you – this means that I misused ‘monochromatic’ in a blog post yesterday (and was talking about zebras, coincidentally). I will go and correct it right now.
Love the last dress. So much that I want it. But yeah, something is really wrong with her face. She looks off, like she had some work done, only not very well. I don’t think it can just be the haircut. It’s making it hard for me to just look at the clothes.
That first dress looks like what my mom covers the Easter dinner table with. I don’t know what it is with her face, but she just looks greasy and over-filled in the cheek area.
I am fond of achromatic clothing, and I really like the last dress, too. The first one, though — I’d argue that’s not the sofa cushions, it’s the breakfast room half-curtains.
I love the first dress, but boy is it too tight for her in the boobs and arms! And when paired with the second outfit (also a little too tight), mebbe Cam put on a couple of pounds (nothing wrong with that) but forgot to adjust her wardrobe sizings accordingly.
The first dress is also probably a little too young for her.
The last dress is gorgeous – I’m such a sucker for that 1950s style. The other outfits are dullsville, though.
Most of the outfits are cute, but sooooooo disappointed about the plastic surgery. Between the new face and the hair cut, she looks like she is trying to relive her Something About Mary days. Maybe it was just a nose job, since hers has been broken so many times?
She’s turning into Ellen Barkin.
Ellen Barkin … yes, Hat, yes.
God, yes. Not that I have anything against Ellen Barkin but she is a lot older. Cammie needs to go back to yellow blonde and stop using black eyeliner immediately.
Three words: Full. On. Monet.
What happened, Cammie?!
I do like the sleeker styling for her hair. The fried-and-frizzy look is no woman’s friend.
Black nails, white hair.
I don’t get the impression that she has changed her face. The hair color is just not right for her skin. It makes her look “off” The cut is fine, but the color is horrible for her skin tone.
Ehhhh…..she looks ….off. Love that last dress though!
I know we’re not necessarily supposed to comment on physical attributes here, but I have to point out the elephant in the room: She got a dramatic new haircut and color to distract us all from her newly “freshened” face and (albeit small-ish) breast augmentation. The end.
The distraction isn’t working as far as her face work is concerned.
Cameron Diaz is so often a big old mess that it’s really nice to see her looking lovely, as she does in the polka-dotted dress and cage sandals. Recently, I watched The Holiday again, and she looks like million bucks in that whole movie. How can she not dress/style herself well regularly?
I really like the ‘sofa cushion’ dress though maybe not on her.
I went right from “Hip Curtains NOOOOOOO” in Photo #8, to “That’s the best dress ever, I MUST HAVE IT” in the last two shots.
Cammy, if there’s a fortyish blond woman skulking outside your house, it’s me. And it’s that dress (also the coat!) that I’m after. <3
She looks like Cruella DeVille: The Early Years.
Yup. You nailed it.
I love all her coats. They’re gorgeous! I think her hair needs to be an inch longer and a bit darker/golden and she will look so much better.
Agree, Heidi. Just so it hits at her jawline…and that beautiful golden color she had when she did The Mask.
OK, so some of these are adorable and creative. But how did she manage to put 5-10 years on herself all of a sudden? I think part of it is the clothes. She wants to be more sophisticated and leading edge, but she seems older too.
Methinks she needs to go up a size, most of the time. And the polka dot one is too boxy, and calls for pumps in bright red or blue, with a thin yellow belt.
Agree on the shoes – the gladiator sandals are the wrong style for the dress. Those pointy pumps would have been better.
Love the first white dress and the last polka dot dress, SO cute!!
But I have to agree…. what happened to her face? I remember her saying she had her nose broken a few times and wanted to get it fixed, but I think that was quite a few years ago….
I know we should only comment on the clothes sorry.
Enough with the face hate! Women age. deal with it! Also, re surgery; I’m sure there’s some OTHER site where you can discuss who’s had what done where. We’re not here for that.
I love all of these looks, except of course, #8 which probably couldn’t be saved even if she HAD worn a bra. I even love the grey cardie and leather pants. All the white reminds me of her fab wardrobe in ‘The Holiday’.
THANK YOU. Completely agree, this thread comment is so bitchy. I think she looks great. I would wear all the clothes here, yes even in #8!
Cammie’s Remarkable Aging Thingy has actually been happening for 2 or 3 years, but still…she seems to have aged about 10 years in that time so. It’s not good. There’s so much to be said here. First, these are the best clothes she’s worn in YEARS so who cares if they’re are all black and white. The coats. My god. Gorgeous. Usually she wears something so unappealingly short and trashy – this is a huge improvement except for the no bra – polyester skirt slide. BUT. That is where the good news ends. The arms: Madonna! The hair: what’s wrong with your natural colour?? The skin: Tanorexic! Oh Cameron. What did A-Rod and J.T. DO to you???
She seems like she’s really trying to look more sophisticated (or maybe just her own age.) We’ve been very used to seeing her in outfits that are very, very short (to show off those fab legs), at least one size too small and very often a bit “twee.” I mean, how many times have we commented on this site about her penchant for rompers??!!
Though she has worn some winners along the way (the post JT breakup outfits were AWESOME and the fuchsia Met Gala dress with the turquoise necklace was spectacular), but in the last year of so, we’ve seen a lot of clunkers that were too young for her, seemed haphazardly put together and made her like she was trying really hard to look like a 20-year old surfer girl. So, the move to a more grown-up look is, I think, probably overdue.
Sticking to black and white clothes is a savvy choice — it’s safe and classic and (this is in Paris, no?) when you’re traveling, you can easily change your mind and mix and match if everything is black and white. With the exception of the gladiator shoes, the gray yoga outfit and the outfit with all of the stuff on the skirt, I honestly like these ensembles and think they suit her well, especially the first and last dress. But, she REALLY needs some good bras — there is a lot of pulling and drooping. That first dress would have been just divine if it had fit well in the boobs! And, she needs to remember that a skirt needn’t pull across your hips. A little breathing room is more flattering (and probably more comfortable!)
As for the hair, I literally said “Oh, no” out loud when I saw that awful blue dress in a recent post with the fried hair, but the new short ‘do here is cute and flattering, especially the styling in picture #1. It reminds me of her hair in Something About Mary, and is infinitely better than the stringy hair she’s been wearing in the past year, although I wish the color weren’t so white.
OMG – sorry that was so long!
But you were mostly right!
I really don’t want to look at her anymore. It’s making me sad.
Something is definitely off with the face but can’t put my finger on it other than it looks… abnormally (for her) old. But what I find most distracting is the greasy tan makeup. No matter what she is wearing, I get drawn back to the greasy tan face. Bleh…
LOVE the polka dot dress but GF girls, those sandal do NOT go with it. So wrong. A pump or a peeptoe platform… Almost anything else than those.
All I can think of is the Simpsons episode when Homer invents the makeup gun. “Homer, you’ve got it set on whore!” Not that she looks like a whore, just that it looks like it was done by a intoxicated cartoon character.
I do love the polka dots though, and most of the coats and jackets.
I feel for her. I’ve always kind of had a soft spot for her because I read, once, how she suffers with adult acne. Something that ( in the past few years) has really become a major issue for me as well. I know that it’s aged me faster than is even fair… I’m betting she’s having a bad skin season ( mine is always worse in the winter months, whether they’re mild or not)…… If that is true, come summer, she’s going to be good again.
Yes, I read a Hollywood (sorry don’t remember who) make-up artist say once that she had a hard time with her skin.
OK, love the first BLACK coat, it is stunning, but yes I think outfit(s) are often too small.
Speaking of too small GA’s jacket.
SHAME ON YOU GEORGIO!
I think all these outfits are pretty cute/ sophisticated/ expensive. Over all pretty well done! I think she needs to work on her make up & stop tanning! she is in transition bettween being a hot young thing to an attractive women so the beauty regime needs a bit of work.
I think the hair should be maybe an inch longer and slightly deeper in colour. The contrast between her orange face is to much.
I thought it was just me who thought that Cameron was getting unbelieveably UGLY but yay I guess I am not the only one after all. She was very pretty in the mask but has gone so downhill so quickly since then……
You know they filmed that TWENTY years ago, right?
Her face looks fine and I don’t think she’s having it stapled or shot up or cut and pulled. She’s just getting a little older, and that’s okay, it should happen, the alternative to aging is not preferable. And I think the black and white is chic at any time of year. It’s always classic and fresh looking, hard to mess up. I’m glad the hair has been wrangled a bit, when it’s straight it’s always glossy and sleek and looks far better than the blue nylon and lace dress photograph we all saw a week ago, where her hair looked brittle and sharp. She’s still a very pretty woman and talented when it comes to comedy–I sure hope we don’t see her turn into some surgeon’s mistake and disappear into small meaningless roles in the future.
This is far much better than the last pic we commented on here! She’s simply a near 40 woman who’s had little, close to nothing done on her face; unlike most of Botox/collagen-filled nowadays’ movie stars. An it would be hard to anyone -even myself- not to look good on those clothes. Agree to those suggesting she’s too orange for that hair… Honey, either stop tanning -your skin will thank you- and keep the pretty sleek platinum bob; either keep frying and go for a darker blonde hue. Mostly fab, even if I think the polka-dot dress shoud have reached down to her knees.
I also like the first and last dresses. Not sure about the hair.
Puh-leaze. Beyotch *wishes* she had one fraction of Helen Mirren’s style and overall awesomeness.
I don’t know why, but Cameron always looks so cracked out to me lately, even in the polka-dot dress which I do love. Remember how cute and fresh she looked when she debuted in My Best Friend’s Wedding, oh those many years ago? Sigh. I miss that Cameron.
Am I the only one who thinks she may have had the boobs done? In pic 8 they look larger than normal for her. She’s never had much of a chest. That being said, they’re also very saggy looking and boob jobs usually look overly perky. I”ve confused myself.
As for her hair, if she wasn’t so platinum it would look more youthful and attractive. That silvery colour isn’t for everyone. I do like most of the clothing and agree with some other posters that perhaps she’s trying to mature her wardrobe a little.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that thought the gladiator sandals did not go well with the polka dot dress. I was going to say something yesterday but didn’t. That dress was great, but I just really didn’t like those sandals with it.
The first dress is cute and I like it. It just looks too tight and maybe a little too young for her. I do love the white with the black jacket and the leather pants with the grey. I think those look great on her.
She looks special needs in that first picture.
To katybugjd: I am really at a loss why you would put up such an offensive post like that. Really not a cool thing to say.
I work with special needs children. They are awesome little people who work 100 times harder than anyone else I know…..but you’d be amazed at how many people think it’s a completely acceptable put down….
My reply is always “nope…. they’re not driven enough to be special needs. They simply don’t have what it takes”…. the person is then either too stupid to get what I mean or coherent enough to know to STFU. I figure either way, it’s proof as to who THEY are and not to who my kids are.
love the hair
I want every one of those coats. All gorgeous. The polka dot dress is adorable.
The hair colour isn’t doing her any favors. The ashy, platinum tone is clashing terribly with her skin tone. She needs to keep it on the golden side and definitely not that light. If she got the colour right, I think i’d love that bob.
Much much better than that horrible, too tight, blue dress and jacked up hair. I still don’t like the color. She looks better with hair like in The Holiday or on the poster for her new movie.
Something is definitely up w/her face. She’s looking like a cross between Kristen Chenoweth and Donna D’Erico (sp?…the lady from Baywatch).
#3 and #9/10 rock … #1 looks like a pastry doily.
I love almost all of these outfits and think she looks great in them. I’m just so relieved that she’s taking a break from the shortshort skirts and is wearing something more elegant and age-appropriate. And I love the cute bob.
I never liked the bob on her, for me it always looks like “WTF why does that grown woman have a 5-year-olds haircut for” even back in There’s Something About Mary there was just something about that haircut and her face that hate eachother
Pics 1 & 2 – platinum bob – check – white lace doily dress – check – it’s a very, very tired Doris Day…..
Either she did something to her face or she is NOT aging well. Perhaps both. Though probably the self-tan and the stringy white hair isn’t helping. The only outfit I like is the polka dot dress.
HOW did H fail to mention those talons of evil?
