Chris Pine took thematic dressing one step further, and arrived at the premiere of his directorial debut — in which he also plays the lead — as his character, Darren, who from the pretty dismal reviews sounds like a weak knockoff of The Dude. It can be hard to tell, of course, because Chris Pine gleefully wears weird shit all the time, so it’s also very possible Chris Pine woke up on that morning and this is who he felt like being. But his character is an LA-loving pool man who uncovers a water conspiracy and has basically that exact hair, so. What I choose to take from this is that Chris Pine looks good in slim cut shorts.
