I mean. If Joan wore patent leather thigh-high boots. Which maybe she would have, had they been available to her in fifteenth century France.  And if the forty-five minutes I assume they require for removal didn’t eat up too much of the time she otherwise needed to deal with all those old men who were always trying to get her to shut up. What I’m saying is: This is fairly severe on Julianne. But in a way that’s appealing. I might want to just put my hair in a top knot and throw on a tunic and my $35,000 flat boots (or whatever they cost) and a giant diamond ring and swan around town too.
