It was always going to be tough for her to top the candy-striped Miu Miu she wore to the Emmys, so let’s at least acknowledge that degree of difficulty.
That out of the way: When I first saw this, it was just from the bust up, and I thought it was hella naked. Turns out no; it’s just very peachy and delicate. She’s doing a better job than I expected of keeping herself from looking washed out — that makeup is from the Brie Larson School of How To Look Unmade Up Without Also Appearing Ill — but I look at the gown and all I see is a prototype for something lovelier, if anyone had just thought to spin the color wheel even once.
