We’ve grouped all the autumnal colors together today, thanks to Karla Sofia Gascon mixing orange and yellow, and a whole host of brown gowns that begins with Supporting Actress winner Zoe Saldana. We’ve been hoping Karla would wear a bold hue, and boy did she deliver, noting on-stage that she chose this to represent how lightness must always win over the dark: “You can maybe put us in jail, you can beat us up, but you never can take away our soul, or our resistance, or our dignity.” Amen, Karla.
