I’ve got big doubts about this movie. First, the first trailer I saw was INEXPLICABLE — and I mean that literally I could not understand what story they were telling at all. Second, doesn’t it seem like this movie should have opened already? It comes out July 25 but…shouldn’t this be a July 4th opening tentpole movie? (I guess they just ceded that to Jurassic Park, which…fair.) Third, do people care about the Fantastic Four? I am not a comic book movie person so I genuinely do not know. But I can tell you that I suspect people such as myself, who are not comic book movie people but who will go see a Batman, cannot get it up for the Fantastic Four. (This may not matter. There are a lot of comic book movie people.)

ANYWAY! The cast is in Paris and this photo is hilariously terrible. This is an event space but it looks like a chic college lecture hall, in a building that was cast as a futuristic yurt in 1965.  Vanessa Kirby looks gorgeous but distracted. Joseph Quinn there is totally disassociating. Pedro Pascal is wondering if he left the fondue pot running. And Ebon Moss-Bachrach is doing the Jim-staring-directly-at-the-camera move and is slightly dressed like a worried engineer working at NASA during the space race. It’s a lot to absorb!
