Well Played, Margot Robbie in Vionnet

well-played

This is one of those dresses, I think, that’s either a delight or a total blistering disaster. I happen to think it’s the former.

Both dresses are cute, but what is with that first pose? Way too Hilton-esque.

Don’t get in the habit Margot! You don’t need to do that stuff!

I want her to go back to blond. That was her best color. And that third dress is killer.

I agree that she looks best as a blonde, certainly that red hair doesn’t go with the light orange skin tone. Or maybe she’s doing one of those very gradual transitions from dark hair to light, the kind that’s supposed to, you know, not fry your hair to bits.

I hope so, because if you’re going to go red, you need the nerve to go pale as well!

I love her as a blonde! My first thought when I saw this picture was “YES! She’s going back to blonde!” It just suits her so much. I think I even like this not so great copper colour over the black. I think as you say she is probably doing it slowly so as to give her hair a bit of a break.

Love both the dresses with the exception of the back of the blue one. That’s just unfortunate.

Her hair is fried in that 2nd pic. Take it easy on the color!

      Agreed.

YES. I was so distracted by her hair and missed how ugly the back of that top is. Someone get that girl a deep conditioning treatment.

Also, this is making me want that Top Shop striped dress even more now. Sigh.

I just can’t get over the fact that she’s only 23 – she may just have a mature face, but I feel like perhaps, she shaded her age lower than it actually is. I mean, don’t get me wrong, she’s gorgeous, she just doesn’t look like she’s in her early 20s.

I do absolutely love the striped dress. The other dress, not so much.

I think the blue and white dress – despite the back – is just so crisp and clean. Hair is non-fussy and shoes are perfect. I love that look (from the front).

I really like the dress too – just not on her. She is too broad of shoulder for this kind of cut. I’m getting all kinds of linebacker vibes from her top. And maybe she didn’t want to show her bra/skin, so she donned the tank? Meh to that solution.

      Skin would’ve been better honestly.

The front of the dress looks so cute that I can forgive the dark roots, but the exposed underneath layer looks frumpy and too tight. I’d rather have seen a same fabric band across the back or more intricately style for the back of that underneath layer.

I love both of those dresses, but I feel like I recently saw someone else in the Breton stripes? Did Emma Stone wear something similar? I’m sure someone in Fug Nation will know!

That gorgeous second dress is topshop (sold out online, boo) and has been worn recently by Beyoncé and January Jones. Thank you Daily Fail!!
I love the first dress too, summery and so pretty. Good bounce-back after the Met Ball blah and all the awards blah dresses she wore recently.

I adore the color and floatiness of the first dress. Floatiness is my number one requirement in the summer! I’d change the back, though–that just looks uncomfortable.

I second that!! A summer dress must be flowy! This one has that down perfectly. And the color!! But the back is so unfortunate. What a disappointment. That white material not only ruins it, it looks very cheap. Why wasn’t it the same as the dress, at least! It’s a turn around fug?

The front of the blue & white dress is like a breath of fresh air; the back, however, is a stale gust of hot wind. Booo to the back!

I liked the first one until I saw the back. The second is great, love stripes.

Hmm. I’m not on board with either of these. The first dress gives her weird angles and the second ages her considerably. The hair isn’t helping.

I was all set to gush about how summery and float-y the blue-print dress was, and then I saw the back. That killed my fashion boner but good. Why, dress designer, why? It looks like you forgot to close the back. Sigh.

I also like her better with blond hair. The red is a little harsh, I think.

I think that first dress is also a summer tablecloth at Crate & Barrel.

What do so many actresses (and their makeup artists) have against a nice lippy?

The color and pattern on the first one remind me of the tile pattern around a pool- in a good way.

The striped dress is a Topshop dress worn by several others, including Beyonce, who made it look young and fun instead of so uptight!

Topshop? cool. I was about to post that whoever made it did a beautiful job matching those stripes on the sleeves.

Re the Vionnet, so charming, UNTIL the back was shown. Love stripes so loved the striped one!

The blue-and-white is an easy, breezy, beautiful delight – until we see that back. WHY wasn’t it closed up? This would be pure perfection if it had been.

Striped thing is adorable! I hate the shoes with it, because of the clear plastic, but it’s a very cute outfit aside from those.

Why are names of these old designers now getting resurrected, such as Vionnet and Schiaparelli? It all seems wrong.

The first dress is very Diane Kruger to me. That is a compliment.
