Golden Globes Afterparty Well Played(?), Elisabeth Moss

well-played

It was so weird to have a Golden Globes without Mad Men being in play. Matthew Weiner, why must your contract negotiations deny us sweet, sweet Hamm? But Elisabeth Moss, at least, hit the after party. Let’s take a look at her.

Clearly you need a break, this grey shower curtain number is so gross!

I thought her hair and makeup looked SO great! My fave of the evening.

You’re right, she’s not doing her normal Dowager Duchess of Yawnsville routine. She looks like a sexy, young woman for once!

I typically hate the sheer overlay thing, too, but this somehow makes it more ’20s-ish and cute!

I want the last one with a fierce, fierce longing. Beautiful!

She is wearing the HELL out of that lipstick. A+ work Elisabeth

I’m really loving her hair here—the darker and richer shade is doing wonders for her complexion and that lipstick is da bomb. but that dress does her no favors, it’s just kinda meh.

Hate the sheer overlay trend, when will it die!!
BUT her hair and make up is fantastic and the black dress looks great on her.

This would be cute if the shower curtain was lopped off

She looks absolutely lovely in both, but especially the second one! It looks like someone finally figured out how to dress her AND style her hair and make-up perfectly.

Oh my god, I think the last one looks like something a management information analyst would wear to her Christmas party.

Well, it does appear to be a benefit gala for St. Jude’s. I don’t know that you whip out couture – she just had to look shiny and pretty and Hollywood for the attendees.

Dowager Countess would never attend the Globes without an amazing hat tilted at a jaunty angle..something I’ve never seen Moss wear.

Love that black number on her. And Hamm-y is looking chunkier yet hunkier!

She is SO FREAKING PRETTY. I love her. I miss her. Come back, Mad Men, come back!! *breaks down into pathetic sobs, you know the kind where your nose gets all stuffed up and you look like you lost a fight? that kind*

Trim the shower curtain to just above her knee, flapper style. Then, I’d consider it.

OMG, I can’t believe you gave the “curtain legs” outfit a well-played!! I prescribe a nice long nap.

The black dress is gorgeous though. In fact, I want that black dress!

Actually, rip off the fringe and tailor it a bit and the first dress could be awesome – that’s some great fabric.

THAT’S what I’ve been looking for. It’s not really a party week, Hollywood, if nobody brings the Hamm.

Kudos to Elisabeth for bringing it … and him. <3

I am pleasantly surprised, apparently divorce does a woman good! She looks GREAT!!! Her hair and makeup are FABULOUS! Her 1st dress would be better if it was lined all the way down, but it’s cute as it is and I LUST AFTER THE GOLD SHOES! The 2nd dress is AWESOME and she’s never looked that SEXY before! Good for her… FAB!

Yes! That pink lipstick is awesome on her! It’s nice to see her out looking cute.

Her makeup in the first dress is so good. I want that lipstick.

I also think that she should really consider working these kind of straight-up-and-down 20s shapes more, leg curtains or no leg curtains. She herself is pretty athletic-bodied, and while her bod looks totally great in all the tight bodycon stuff she wears, this is a really pretty, relaxed alternative for her! Usually her dresses are so tight they make me feel tense, even though she looks good in them.

I too had a shudder of relief on seeing the second pic. Season 4, Episode 7: The Suitcase. BEST EPISODE EVER. I love them together.

Major factor here is that she is actually partially covering her mile-high forehead, which makes it easier to concentrate on her outfits. Which are cute. And she’s gone darker with her hair too.

I so agree. As Tyra would say, E. Moss has a “five-head” and the sideswept bangs are so good for hiding it. I would usually hate the long overlay thing, but she looks so relaxed, confident and pretty, I have to agree with the well-played.

I’d like the first one much more without the shower curtain overaly, it has a cute 20′s flapper vibe to it, but that part kind of ruins it. Her hair and makeup are the BEST they’ve ever been, though.

God Bless Jon Hamm. Only a little over two more months until he’s back on our tv’s on a regular basis…not that I’m keeping track, or anything.

I don’t love it, but I love her so much I don’t care. Her hair and lipstick IS great and I find her so. darn. cute. I can’t stand it. Girl Crush ever since the Excedrin commercial.

I love both dresses. I think she pulls off the first one better than other actresses because there’s something very retro about Elizabeth Moss. I really can’t imagine her in contemporary clothing (like jeans). She looks ready to get on the Titanic or something. And the second dress is gorgeous and wearable! You know, if you have her gorgeous skin. And Hamm is always the best accessory a divorced girl can carry about. Mad Men has been genius on exploiting their chemistry.

Re: “Moss has a long history of showing up at awards shows looking about 75 years old”, because of this, I only very recently realised she was also Zoe Bartlett. I mean, now I know it, I don’t understand how I never put it together – she really has very distinctive features. But seriously, I think it’s because all the times I’ve seen her out and about in recent years, I’ve legit thought she was in her late thirties, early 40s and therefore couldn’t possibly be the same actress who was playing a teenager just a handful of years ago.

That dress is ugly and I don’t understand why people find her attractive but at least she’s finally dressing her age. Next she has to start wearing outfits that flatter her broad shoulders.

she is wearing the hell out of that lipstick and her expression totally reminds me of Emma Stone (saucy). the silver dress does nothing for her (and the gold shoes… what?)… but the black one is aMAZing

She deserves to look this gorgeous all the time. Go Peggy!

    (And thanks for the Hamm)

I’m thinking this post would have worked as an Unfug it Up.
