The Color Purple wasn’t nominated for anything except Fantasia’s and Danielle Brooks’s performances, but that did not stop three people from deploying purple on the big night — Oprah included, of course. Oprah was always going to learn the hardest into that synergy. But we also had a little blue, and one green gown, so let’s just go ahead and look at that whole chunk of the color wheel.
