Before Covid, the annual Serpentine Party — the opening summer bash for London’s iconic Serpentine Gallery — used to be A BIG DEAL. PILES of celebrities and models showed up and showed out. Over the years, someone turned down the temperature — sadly not literally yesterday; it was 93 degrees in London — on this thing, presumably because it was beginning to feel too Hollywood for what is basically a British art party. And yet! People still wore things. I’d argue….someone needs to turn the metaphorical temperature up on this event again because some of this is lacklustre.
