You may recall that former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright does not mess around with her jewelry: As delineated in her book, Read My Pins, everything she wears carries some meaning. At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this year (which it would appear no traditional celebs attended), she went very much on-theme, and I am nothing if not committed to accessories. And so:
Per Albright, this was a nod to an era when reporters took written notes and used typewriters. Which may have been less nostalgia-fueled than due to a handheld voice recorder and a laptop making for two really boring brooches. Still, I won’t lie, a typewriter pin just vaulted onto my list of things to scour for on Etsy.
