I love this. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is someone whose dresses really wowed me for a period, and then slid back to being slightly less divine — which is fine; such is the red-carpet life cycle. Even pro baseball players don’t bat even as much as .500. I can’t even swat a fly with accuracy. If I get one out of a hundred I’m feeling pretty chuffed. But, all inane digressions aside, this dress brought me back in: It’s cool and it’s classy, tweaking the formula just enough to be interesting but not so much that it’s drunk on itself. Basically, I think the neckline is the more flattering version of whatever Anna Kendrick’s dismal sling was attempting. I love it when the slightly older generation still dishes out all the right lessons to the whippersnappers.
