It’s poignant to look at this year’s TIME Women of the Year nominees and think just how much harder it’s going to be, for so many of them, to continue effecting the change for which they’re fighting. Gisele Pelicot did not attend, nor does she seem to have spoken to them for her piece, which is understandable given… everything she has had to say publicly for so long, and also, shame on them for not making her Person of the Year. And yes, Jordan Chiles and A’ja Wilson were honored together, allowing for this incredible photo. WBNA stars are tall! Gymnasts are small! We know this intellectually, but how often do we get to see it so clearly illustrated?!?
