Fug the Show: Nashville recap, season 1, episode 11

Hayden kicks ass in this episode, and also, Deacon gets to be all fiery and angry and then sad and needy. And Tami wears a bad dress. Action-packed.

* This went up earlier but because of our recent bizarre technical issues, all the slides got put in the wrong random order. I think it’s fixed now…?

It’s fixed. Our issues have been SO VARIED this week, it’s making me completely insane. I have no idea why they shuffled.

In slide #12, the actor who plays Deacon is Charles Esten, not Charles Rosen (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0261595/?ref_=sr_1), but I’ll always think of him as Josh Porter from “The Office”.

Charles Esten? No no no. He’s CHIP Esten from Whose Line is it Anyway? and the only one on the show whose dance moves and singing skills could keep up with Wayne Brady. GOD I miss that show….

THANK YOU. I knew I didn’t have his name right. Charles Rosen is the dude who worked on 90210!

    1. I totally started watching this show because of you guys, and it is my new guilty pleasure.
    2. I love that you call Tami, Tami. I can’t even remember what her name is on this show.
    3. You’re awesome!

I love this show but I cannot take Scarlett and Avery anymore. Scarlett’s voice is just annoying and I can’t stand baby voices like that. I realize it’s probably because she is an Australian trying to do a southern accent but it really bothered me in this episode. I honestly thought Avery was going to crash when he was driving and listening to his song. I wouldn’t be sad. His story needs to be over

My first thought was that the smug dummy was doing to be carjacked in his shiny new signing bonus car!! Then I realized he was in his old neighborhood or the band’s neighborhood! Oh, Heather, I can’t believe you didn’t make a slide for commentary on Tami Taylor’s best accessory in this episode! The scene where she’s at the party talking to the 2 guys–the one on the screen left was rising country singer Chris Young, hubba hubba. Ahem….

My love affair with this show is fueled mainly by your recaps. Keep ‘em coming!

Finally! This almost appears to have been an episode I’m nearly sorry to have not watched. The recaps are divine, and usually more entertaining than the show, but I think I want to see what Hayden accomplished last week.

I love these recaps. Also, loved that you worked Bull True into it. Y’all are the best!

I may or may not have purchased a snood at the same Etsy site as Scarlett there.

    You guys – sorry:

Y’all are going to suck me into watching this thing just like Hart of Dixie.

You had me at “Goofus & Gallant” and sealed the deal with “Angel of Hair Extensions”.

    Bull true.

“lack of consistent formatting” for the win!!! How I love that you guys noticed it .

Indenting is a thing, fake magazine.

Not to mention that unless it was a weekly (which I doubt it), there’s no way an article sourced and written about Deacon leaving the Revel Kings would have already made it into print a mere week or so after it went down. Consistency.

I think they need to hire a new graphic designer for the show props, because that poster was awful, too. I have zero PhotoShop skills and I could have done better than that.
