AMAs Well Played, Taylor Swift

The most important question in all this is, does Taylor still own the across-the-street love nest in Hyannisport? Because the song I want to hear is the one about when she brings one of the One Direction kids home to it and Conor Kennedy gets het up and there is a mighty clash of mop-tops.

Her 15 minutes can be up any time now.

I don’t think so! As much as I am not into her music, I think she’s a good role model for girls, so I’m glad for her success, even if she’s not the best singer/songwriter to grace the face of the Earth.

I definitely agree with the last comment. I’m not at all into her brand of music, but ditto.

And she looks SOO_PERB!!! in the first dress! Short, but not TOO short like some other either young celebrities who do it just CUZ, or older ones looking a little desperate. The look here is still very classy.

Haven’t all of her albums, including this one, went to number one? You may not like her but she’s clearly not going anywhere

My parents saw her open for vince gill 8, YES EIGHT, years ago….I think she has lasted more than 15 minutes.

She looks great in the first dress.

Her red carpet dress looks like she had the dress she wore last year hemmed and wore it again to be honest. It’s a solid dress yes, but something we’ve seen so much of before…just cropped at the crotch.

I like that she’s trying to add a flare of drama. Also appropriate as her love life is always so full of it. I just think the whole thing looks like a bunch of chopped tulle stapled to a moulin rouge costume. She should’ve used the same seamstress tha hemmed her red carpet dress….

She looks stunning in the first outfit. As for the second/third ensemble(s), well, the combat boots make a lot more sense after the white dress is shed.

Hating the hair and makeup. Blecch!

As for the dress, even the first one, hard to even notice because her style is so one-dimensional. Looks like the same off-white sparkly/lacy dress she always wears, with just the slightest sleeve or hem difference. Boring and washed out! Swifteh needs some color, some verve, some downtime out of the public spotlight, methinks.

Did Biel get her bangs by telling her stylist to give her The Taylor Swift?

I’m IN LOVE with the 1st dress… I love gold, shiny & sparkly! The whole outfit is a WIN: hair, makeup, jewelry & shoes are PERFECTION! I like the 2nd dress; would love it if it was figure-hugging (but we know why that couldn’t be), especially worn with those boots… I like that edge! The 3rd dress is wacky, but fun and I applaud her for it! FAB!!!

By the way, “He calls himself the Spook of the All-Purpose Event Center(s)…” is so AWESOME that I’m making that picture my new Desktop Background! Ahahaha…..

She looks lovely. And like an actual adult…. So, can someone explain to me why she’s dating high school boys? There IS a happy medium between 30-something douchecanoes and non-threatening Bieber lookalikes. (Speaking of which, I’m ALSO looking at you, Selena.)

I think she looks stunning in the gold dress. And she’s 22 – wear it short while you can, sister. On a side note, I wish everyone would get off her case about her love life. If she were a guy, no one would care how many starlets she dated or how old they were. Plus, I think when you have a non-traditional childhood (a la Taylor, Connor Kennedy and what’s his nuts from One Direction) age doesn’t matter like it would otherwise. It’s not like she’s going to marry any of these dudes anyway, so I’m not sure why anyone really cares.

Her entire catalogue is about her life life- so that’s why people focus on it. I couldn’t care less, but the fact that she invites the talk is just that.

She went from pure Christine Daée before the mirror to Masquarade Christine in one swift (no pun intended) costume change.

The first dress looks great, albeit similar to what we’ve seen on her before, just shorter.

She’s looking a lot like a Fashion Barbie.

That is what I have been thinking. I miss her curls. Well, at least she never looks like a trollop.

The red carpet dress would be a knockout if it were a color. Almost any color. It fits beautifully, I love the sparkly bits, the length is great… but it just disappears on her skin and magically washes her out at the same time.

I like the funky, corsety stage outfit! Though it seems awfully incongruous with what little I know of her material.

Pretty dress. She looks lovely… and yes, when she stops writing about ex-boyfriends for her own profit, then the media should (and others) can stop nagging on her.

I feel like, talking about her lovelife is one thing, but implying she’s a dried-up loser at love AT AGE 22 is beyond the pale.

I always have to laugh when I hear her say she’s not given up yet on finding love. Girl, you’re 22. Give it time. You’ll get there.

I love the short golden sparkly dress she’s wearing, she looks fabulous in it.

I liked that white virginal dress/red bad girl switcheroo better in Center Stage. Taylor, get Amanda to teach you how to entirely change your hair, makeup and shoes in a single shedding of tulle and I’ll be impressed.

I love her whole red carpet look – dress, shoes, makeup, hair. While she does like to wear sparkly dresses, it is different because it’s less fairy princess. However, it’s still classy. It’s ok for her to know herself and know that she doesn’t like edgy or artsy or weird. But now she looks 22 and classy instead of 15 and classy.

Ugh: what you said, CynicalSmirk! My Give-a-Crap-ometer for TSwift has never had a very strong reading. I know this is a fashion blog but she always seems like a little girl playing dress-up to me – which is the same comment I made about The Biebs earlier this week. Hey, maybe she’ll hook up with him next?

I’m just relieved she’s no longer clubbing us over the head with the word ‘red’ by wearing it constantly. Even if that means we’re back to sparkle-princess mode until the next album drops.

“ushering in an age of unitards”?! USHERING IN?! Sorry, GFYs….that age is already here and has been for a while. I hope, beyond hope, that TSwift helps us usher it OUT.

Love the first look on her. Classy, age appropriate, and she’s working those legs like Cammie D. I think she’s great overall. Sure her music isn’t my thing, but neither is Carrie Underwood’s. But I can still appreciate them. You go, Taylor.

Porcelain doll. Fragile to the point of leaving up on the shelf. Boy howdy, do I wish she’d ix-nay with the angs-bay.
