I enjoy that the folks over at Shape are basically like, “November-Schmovember — it’s pool time somewhere!” And so it is. I can’t blame them — this is an appealing cover. She looks so relaxed! Maybe a little sleepy? But not in a bad way.

The interview taught me that Vanessa has a line of cactus water (?!?!) and the photo shoot has MANY high-waisted bikini tops (which she wears well)! I always enjoy the profiles in Shape because they are generally low on the Celebrity Blah Blah Blah and high on Celebrity Logistics, and Vanessa comes across like a very positive person and a good friend. This made me chuckle, though:

My overall food philosophy is, if it’s real, I’ll eat it. Many things are processed and contain chemicals and ingredients I can’t pronounce. I want real food. If I’m in Italy, and I see them making pasta by hand, or if it grows from the earth, that’s real. I stay away from the processed stuff. I also don’t eat meat. I’m a pescatarian. What animals go through is so inhumane. That’s not a system that I support.

VANESSA! FISH ARE ANIMALS!
