So when This Whole Thing started, I sort of snorted at a lot of the OMG HERE’S HOW YOU WORK FROM HOME!! articles that sprung up. They all basically said the same thing: Make your bed, keep normal hours, get dressed every day, try to have a place in your home that is a designated work space. This is all good advice,  and certainly I understand why people accustomed to going into an office may have craved guidance, but as a person who has worked from home since 2006….eh. Do what you want to do that also gets your work done. (FWIW, due to a variety of human frailties, I have spent many weeks working literally from bed and I never caught on fire or anything else similarly disastrous.)

Having said all this, while I am generally a person who always did put on some form of non-pajamas on a daily basis, the last month or so did devolve into 100% sweatpants time, and my feeling is that is also fine. But I decided to actually put on an outfit on Sunday (it was a sundress with no waist, it wasn’t insane) and I have to say…it sort of made me feel better. So I decided, maybe we need a post of dresses that we might be happy to wear around our homes and that we also might want to wear out to things once we can go out to things again, should that day ever dawn. (Remember going out to things that weren’t essential for human existence? I’d stab myself in the hand with a fork to be sharing a bowl of chips and a pitcher of margaritas on a patio with people I like right now. Frankly, I’d be delighted to be doing that with people I hate right now.)

FYI: GFY always uses affiliate links where available, which means we get a tiny bonus if you get yourself something new. I can assure you that all items were personally chosen by me while I sat around drinking iced coffee and watching RHoNY.
