This is bananas: A known red-carpet infiltrator leapt out in Singapore and got right up next to Ariana Grande, before Cynthia Erivo CHARGED over and got in between them and barricaded Ariana. I can’t fathom why this man’s face isn’t known to red-carpet security at this point, much less where the security was here, because he brags about this stuff on Instagram (I won’t mention his account but it’s in that story if you want to know). But also it pisses me off that the stories about it all call him a “fan.” This isn’t fan behavior; stop whitewashing it. This is intrusive and psychotic and dangerous. It doesn’t matter if all he wants is a photo. Gross. And where the HELL was the security? Cynthia Erivo’s body should not be your protection strategy.
Ariana — and Cynthia, pictured below — seems to have rebounded beautifully. I wish we could see more of the gown, but that’s the best we have. It’s like a glam version of the dress Fraulein Maria wore when she danced with the Captain and they both got so horny — and yes, that’s the second Sound of Music mention in two days, but truly can we ever bring it up TOO much? No.
Here’s what else she’s worn at various tour stops:
Law Roach said on Instagram that this is Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first custom Balenciaga look. I think it’s beautiful. Getting rid of Demna was SO the right call there.
That’s a 1998 Givenchy, which I may have mentioned before, but I like this photo of it. There’s still a lot of pink in play, but it’s not SO Glinda this time around.
We didn’t have photos of Cynthia from Singapore, at least not enough that you could see the full gown, so:
It’s Vivienne Westwood. She is really once again clinging to dark outfits on this tour. I just don’t think this needed the massive swath of pelvic bone to be compelling on her.
She also tapped Dior:
That hat looks like the microwaved leftovers version of the one she wears in Wicked. Too on-the-nose, Dior.
But damn, a good Iris van Herpen always brings up my mood, ESPECIALLY when it’s on Michelle Yeoh and she’s queening the way she was always meant to do.
