I truly truly do not think we need Wonka, and I announce that aloud to the room every time I see the ad for it. Is Hugh Grant trying to recreate the magic of having been in Paddington? Also I’m tired and just accidentally wrote, “Is Hugh Grant trying to recreate the magic of having been in Hamilton?” and now I’m sad Hugh Grant never got to play King George in Hamilton. Although I guess that’s still on the table. Am I just randomly typing here so I don’t need to have a more complex take on Wonka?? FOR SURE. However, I will tell you: EVERYONE is in this, from the Queen herself (one of them) to Carson from Downton, so THAT at least will be fun, and also Timmeee C is wearing an outfit that Laurie Lawrence would have loved.
