The Idea of You is A BELOVED NOVEL and I know people have huge expectations about this adaptation — and have HAD THOUGHTS about its trailer. I hope everyone gets what they want here! Let’s see what Anne Hathaway has worn to promote it so far. This top dress is cute! I feel like my grandma if I say that it reads “a little skimpy” and I don’t even know if I think that’s accurate as much as I just think it seems very summery. (Maybe I would have just gone FULL MOD and tracked down some boots.)
I actually LOVE this next look, with one small caveat…
Her jeans are insane and look like they’ve been patched together by like four different pairs:
Now, yes, I think they’re crazy but that doesn’t mean I hate them. I just think this look might have worked better with more classic Levis. I’d also like to draw your attention to those ratty boot-cut hems: THEY’RE BACK. Folks of a certain age surely remember, as I do, what it was like to wreck the hem of your jeans, then get the heel of your pointy shoe caught in a hole in one of them and fall on your face on the way into work, breaking your finger. Surely, this was not just me!!
Anyway I’m ready for them but this time I’m going to step more carefully.
