The new Road House has been bedeviled by reviews citing terrible (and theoretically unnecessary?) CGI, and director Doug Liman essentially boycotting it because he claims it was a bad-faith switcheroo that Amazon released it on streaming and not in theaters (Jake Gyllenhaal says otherwise and that it was always planned to be on streaming; true, or being a company man?). I don’t have a ton of interest in seeing Jake step in for Patrick Swayze, and UFC dingbat Conor McGregor is a HARD pass from me as well, so I may leave this one to others. Also, I didn’t realize Road House and Footloose had such similar logos. Team Footloose.
