It’s a very fabulous garden party where everyone is wearing huge cocktail rings and discussing the mysterious ways they lost track of their third husbands, sharing tips about the best place to buy diamonds, and exchanging recipes for the best way to serve caviar on a weeknight. This dress has a pitcher of martinis and a set of 14 carat gold toothpicks to stick into its fancy pigs-in-a-blanket. This dress is a party that people talk about for YEARS later, that eventually becomes legend, that Vanity Fair will write a long feature about that eventually gets turned into a moderately successful work of women’s fiction. It’s that much of a party.
