Kate is definitely doing a lot of the same silhouette lately — or, if not exactly alike, the same basic concept, which usually involves a black pencil-cut skirt. This night was no exception.
The question is whether this version is enough of an upgrade — or a variance — to justify dipping back into that well. It’s marginally interesting contrast blocking but also faintly like she’s wearing it over torso traction. I think, honestly, as weak as this is, my verdict is this: It’s okay. It’s no great shakes. It’s not a vicious misstep, nor is it an unmissable opportunity. In the vote between fug or fab, I pick feh. Which I just put on the table.
