It was bugging me that this seemed super familiar, and I realized it’s because it lightly evokes Danielle Deadwyler’s Schiaparelli from a few weeks ago, except that one has actual three-dimensional adornments on it and this Christopher John Rogers does not. THIS seems to be purple embroidery on a dark gold base. It’s really striking but I can’t decide if it would be BETTER if we got really nitpicky and tweaked it. Like, should this be mid-shin instead? Would it actually work better if the construction at the waist was more defined? And does it need different styling? I miss her loose hair, and I feel like the accessories could be more imaginative without pulling focus. What do you think? Can we zhuzh this? Do we even need to? Am I just spiraling? Am I just typing right now to avoid the fact that I badly need to do Christmas shopping? Wait, why am I procrastinating the fun stuff???? What can I do to put off thinking about that?
