Here, we have two trends on display: an oversize suit, and one that’s made of two different fabrics. All it’s missing to be a REAL au courant cocktail is a sheer portion and a garnish of some black velvet and sheer ankle socks. Ashley is someone who often goes very far over the top, so I’ve been enjoying a more dressed-down — again, by her standards — aesthetic on her, just for something fresh. And I think I could warm up to the suit; yes, I’m tired of people looking like they’re drowning in fabric, but she’s pulling it off better than most, although if it were warm enough then the pants with just a fitted sleeveless navy shirt and then some fun accessories would have worked. Because that’s my other issue: I hate the Versace purse. All put together thusly, I think it’s overwhelming her.
But since we’re stuck with what we’re stuck with — at a certain point, “I’d completely change the cut of the suit and also the material” is just another way of saying “wear something else” — I would at least START the unfug process by swapping out the bag.
