Welcome back from what I hope was a long and relaxing holiday break where you were fed bon-bons and had your feet massaged, and ideally had no time to spend on the internet at all. If that was the case, can we interest you in a round-up of all the posts we whipped out over the break? You might want to peruse them instead of going back to work:
- We took a trip down Beyonce Lane to look at her red carpets past. Spoiler: She once wore a belt that misspelled “Bootylicious.” A made-up word of her own making-up!
- We wondered if you could tell Blake Lively’s Preserve from the J Peterman catalog (it’s shockingly hard, and yes, Peterman IS a real thing, not just a product of Seinfeld).
- We looked back at season four of Downton Abbey to prepare for last night’s premiere (recap to come as soon as I finish writing it, so probably later today. I am typing it RIGHT NOW).
- The Year in Kate and Wills and Harry and George. Cheeks! Polo pants! Canoodling!
- The Year in The Other British Royals.
- The Year in Royals Who Aren’t British At All.
- And then back to the Brits: We looked at what they all wore out for Christmas, i.e.: The Annual Holding of the Hands.
- There was a Look Back at the Timeless Hotness of Idris Elba.
- Taylor Swift’s Red Carpet Retrospective. There are personalized cowboy boots!
- Speaking of Taylor Swift, we also looked back at her street style for 2014.
- And we did the same for Reese Witherspoon.
- We look a look back at how NAKED and TRANSPARENT everything was in 2014.
- And listed some of the best dresses that didn’t make our Best Dressed Round-Up for The Cut. In other words: The rest of the best.
- And the rest of the worst. Oy vey.
- We tried to figure out the deal with Ariana Grande’s headsuit.
- We took in The Year of Amal Alamuddin Clooney.
- And reveled in (and regretted some of) The Year of Lupita.
- Of course, we did our annual Vogue Predict-a-Cover prognostications!
- And applauded the style efforts of Keri Russell.
- We were pleased by the outcome of Jess Weixler’s rookie year.
- We counted down the top fourteen GFY posts of 2014! Onward and upward to 2015.
