So, I misread something the other day that said Katy Perry’s birthday was around now. It isn’t. It’s in October. But! She is currently pregnant and participating in American Idol at-hope tapings, both of which are exciting milestones — well, one of them is, and one of them is a product-of-our-times milestone that I know viewers appreciate — and consequently she wore this on TV:

You cannot ever deny Katy Perry’s commitment to an over-the-top visual gag, such as when she dressed up at one taping last year as Ursula the Sea Witch, or… pretty much any Met Gala. I appreciate her ebullience so much right now, and this slideshow IS a really fun dance, even when it’s hideous. The best kind: joy and fug all wrapped up in one.
