When figuring out what to do for the end of this year, I was trying to think of whose fashionography we hadn’t yet studied, and I landed on Emily Blunt. “Will it be relevant enough?” I wondered. And you know what, that’s never stopped me before, so what the hell — but, it turns out it IS ever so slightly relevant, because she snagged a Golden Globe nomination for The Smashing Machine. I don’t know if I believe that will continue across awards season, but it’s enough of a hook for now. This is quite a long one, so you may want to consume it in stages. I needed several breaks just to write it.
