I appreciate it when awards shows give themselves informative names. Like, if you were awoken from a one-hundred-year coma, the Golden Globes — god bless them! — would not be an event that was immediately understood. (I also feel like you’d have…a lot of other things on your To Be Explained List before you got to the Globes, but you feel me.) The British Independent Film Awards, on the other hand, is pleasantly clear as monikers go. Let’s visit its red carpet.
