The Fifteen Percent Pledge held a gala over the weekend, to promote its notion that if 15 percent of our population is Black, then Black-owned brands should be present on at least 15 percent of retail shelf space. And one great way to draw attention to your event is to invite Iman, because who doesn’t want to see Iman? I wrote a whole two-word headline that’s predicated on the idea that you will see it and think, “Oooh, IMAN!” Other people attended too, but she is a very tough act to follow.
