First of all: YES, I do want to go see the world. I DO want to movie to Umbria. I AM interested in people yelling on Nantucket. T&C’s headlines always appeal to those of us who like reading about rich, glamorous shit, and that’s my own number one interest in a glossy magazine. They also do travel issues very well. Can I afford everywhere they suggest? No. But would I like to afford it? YES.

The profile is, as they always are in T&C, positive and enjoyable to read; Among other things, I learned that Ferguson’s mother helped ABBA translate lyrics for Waterloo, which is a fun fact indeed. She looks luxe and rich in the editorial, which the piece notes was shot on the British Pullman, which, since 1982, “has transported globetrotters around southern England using 11 restored carriages made between the 1920s and 1950s. While each is individually designed, the Queen Mother’s favorite was the Phoenix: a first class parlor car that she took to Brighton. In 2021 a fellow car, the Cygnus, was given a Wes Anderson makeover as the filmmaker sought to balance the historic interiors with his whimsical color palette and Art Nouveau design. Lately a dining experience in which guests are transported back to 1951 in an attempt to identify a fictional murderer has been calling out to voyagers. What’s derailing the participants from pursuing the truth? The five-course meal before them. The fainthearted, however, needn’t fret. Afternoon tea or a trip to Blenheim Palace provides a tamer experience.” Did I then click on the provided link? OBVIOUSLY. The train looks delightful, but it seems, frankly, RUDE that we’re not currently at this Italian villa, or drinking wine on a French barge. Do I need to get in with the Summer Camp Mafia to make this happen?!
