The story goes that Tiffany Haddish bought this white Alexander McQueen gown — I believe specifically for this premiere — with her own money, and then decided to get as much wear out of it as possible because it cost a small fortune and she could “just Febreze it.” She wore it on the Oscars telecast, to host the MTV Movie Awards, to host Saturday Night Live, during an interview with David Letterman… I’m almost certainly missing at least one appearance in that list. Indeed, the McQueen gown got enough notoriety that our photo service started putting it in Informative Caption: “Tiffany Haddish wears her Alexander McQueen gown…” I don’t care if this was calculated PR, or authenticity, or a little bit of both: It’s nice, and rare, to hear celebs say, “I feel good in it, and I paid for it, and I’m going to WEAR IT AS OFTEN AS I WANT.”
While we’re here, we might as well revisit the whole Girls Trip premiere, with a decidedly dreamy ending.
