The fact that Rachel McAdams is playing the mom in the movie adaptation of Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret makes me feel elderly, a life stage which I am approaching. I heard “…Baby, One More Time” on the oldies station yesterday — it’s just a few more sands through the hourglass until I place myself onto the ice floe and float out to sea.  Anyway, I assume they’re updating AYTGIMM and Margaret will not have a dark night of the soul staring at retro menstrual products and wondering what the hell she’s supposed to do with a belt but it’s nice that that Rachel, at least, has decided to sartorially stick to the source material’s ’70s roots.
