Halle Berry came to Cinemacon to promote Crime 101 alongside Chris Hemsworth. (I’m sad we didn’t get Mark Ruffalo and Monica Barbaro as well — it’s actually quite a big cast; Barry Keoghan is in it, too, but maybe there’s a one-panel limit and Sony had already bagged him for the Beatles stuff.) And Halle is very consistent. She has her safe spaces. One of them seems to be black outfits that have sheer/peekaboo elements, so even if she hasn’t worn this exact top before, it FEELS like everything she’s already done. People’s story about this article unintentionally hilariously said that Halle “in recent years has been known to wear daring ensembles that show off a hint of skin,” as if this woman didn’t win an effing Oscar more than 20 years ago in an iconic one. At least the skirt is something of a fresh take — like a tailcoat but for her lower half — but I am dying for a stylist to get in there and bust her out of the ruts. That used to be the province of Law Roach. Who’s next in line?!?
