Full disclosure: I did not watch ANY New Year’s Eve shows — rocking or otherwise — because I was super grouchy and didn’t leave the house on the evening of the 31st, and I only ever see the ball drop if I’m at a party and the TV is on. (FWIW, I made myself a wedge salad and watched like nine episodes of Schitt’s Creek; I am in a much better mood now.) So if I miss any nuances of any of these performances, please do let me know. The best I can tell is that the weather in Times Square looked LES MISERABLES. But if we’ve learned anything from Inspector Javert, it’s that Les Miserables DOES bring with it excellent coats.
