Finally, something from Alessandro Michele’s Valentino that I really like! Partly because it feels like an actual respectful union of his tastes (as evidenced in his Gucci work) and Valentino’s aesthetic. The dress is lovely; imagine it with, say, Elle Fanning and her typical sleek bun, chin held just-so, and sure, it works. But there’s something really appealing to me about the tweeness of the brassy bow and hearts, and the cape, juxtaposed with Natasha’s signature untamed mane and belly laugh. I like it on her and I think playing against type — it’s VERY traditionally fancy — is super effective here.
Especially when she’s REALLY kicking back and being herself:
This says, “I just robbed my grandmother, but she won’t call it in because she knows I’ll sneak back and return it all in a few days.”
