Listen, I haven’t been a student in TWENTY-NINE YEARS (!!) and yet something in my body wants to buy a new bookbag every September. And who am I to fight this impulse? Well — in fairness, I just got a new Vee collective tote for fall, so I have NOT fought it. (I have been using a boat and tote all summer but felt like switching it up a little bit. Those Vee totes have SO many compartments. Maybe it will magically organize me?)
Speaking of totes, and school, I just noticed that Lands’ End has a clear tote that you can use as a stadium bag. This is a brilliant idea on their part. And there are new totes everywhere at the moment, presumably because everyone has the same Pavlovian response to the changing month on the calendar that I do. This suede one at Madewell is gorgeous. This one at Quince is also really good — and a good price. (I love the navy one too.) I’ve been eyeballing this sort of zany one for like a month now. (This one, too!) This one at the Gap is really good, and under $40.
