The Gotham TV Awards may benefit from being months before the Emmys yet long enough after the Globes that the stockpile has refreshed. The effect is as if it’s reaching further and deeper than its counterparts, but maybe once Emmy nods come out, they’ll reflect this? Nominees and winners came from Alien: Earth, The Testaments, I Love LA, DTF: St. Louis, Death By Lightning, Mountainhead, The Chair Company, Ponies, Task, The Audacity, The Fall & Rise of Reggie Dinkins, and Big Mistakes. Quite a range! Death By Lightning is supposed to be excellent and I think we’ve ALMOST convinced the Beans — who never want to watch anything — to give it a try. History! Presidents! LIGHTNING! Okay fine there’s no actual lightning, but… EMOTIONAL LIGHTNING!
