After Lindsay Lohan’s big Netflix return in Falling For Christmas, she scored a two-movie deal of which I believe Irish Wish is the first. She’s the poster actress right now for Netflix’s Hallmark aspirations. Hallflix. Markflix? Anyway, the plot: “When the love of her life gets engaged to her best friend, Maddie puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland. Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be. With her dream seeming to come true, Maddie soon realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely.” HELLO, spoilers, we never would have predicted that on our own!

I will say that I watched Falling For Christmas, which had the same director — fun fact: she is wed to Michael Damian, Y&R legend and erstwhile dreamcoat-clad Joseph — and it was… very adequate, or “adequite,” as Lindsay once famously wrote. The director said this was easy because they knew Lindsay by this point and could work to her strengths, but Lindsay describes this character as “naive” and “sweetheart” and a bookworm, and unfortunately, she was least believable in those parts of Falling For Christmas. Her performance was so much better BEFORE the concussion that made her nice! THAT would be writing to her strengths. Maybe movie #3 will figure that out.
