Kristen is wearing an item from Bettter — yep, three Ts — which is a luxe brand that takes fashion scraps and waste and tries to upcycle them on a large scale, if I am parsing their Instagram correctly. That is a cool idea, and a worthy one, and I’m glad I read about it and the “tailoring algorithm” they built to map out ways to reconstruct items from bits and pieces or even whole other garments…. and yet I think the algorithm is nefarious and twisted and out to get us. For example, if you go to the website (on which everything is mysteriously sold out), there’s a skirt that appears to give the wearer what I can only deem a kangaroo pouch of their very own. And  should NOT trust anything that’s trying to put us in labial floss. The Instagram site has a post that says, “We’re looking for the perfect membrane for humans,” and “membrane” is the perfect word for Kristen’s outfit; that’s about all it is. This thing is not the answer to ANYONE’S problems, except perhaps the wearer’s personal esthetician.

For what it’s worth, Kristen’s trusted professional is worth every penny. You don’t need to ask me how I know.
