This was a very Heir-to-the-Throne-y event today — apparently the President of Ukraine and his wife Olena are in the UK for Reasons (that reads as very mysterious and I’m sure it is not; I just don’t know said reasons), and Buckingham Palace had Wills and Kate meet with them instead of the Queen (who is still in a tower in Windsor Castle where she is safely not breathing anyone’s germs, although they keep saying she’s going to come to London for some engagements in October which I wish she would not!) or Charles, who is presumably busy with a rousing game of pinochle with the possum that lives in his drawing room chimney.
What Kate Wore reports that (a) she thinks this dress of Kate’s is Emilia Wickstead but she’s not sure, and (b) passes along some interesting intel suggesting that Kate’s necklace is a re-worked piece of Diana’s. (I’m always interested in how that comes to pass.) I’m reporting that this is obviously extremely reasonable and also basically a Kate Costume.
