Givenchy showed this with what they’re currently euphemistically calling a “belt bag” — wise rebranding, probably — and I’ve never said this before, but I think I think it’s worse without said belt bag.

I was very lucky that my great-grandmother lived to a very old age, and I spent a lot of time with her. She loved a housedress — a shapeless but often jauntily-colored or patterned frock you could just wear around the house instead of having to pull together an entire outfit. She watched Dallas in a housedress; she fed the next door neighbor’s cat in a housedress; she made Chex Mix in a housedress; she spied on the people across the street in a housedress. She would have worn this seven days a week! It’s festive but also waistless; perfect for reading your Star magazine or watering your hydrangeas in sassy peace! What more does a lady need?
