I don’t know exactly how this 90210 situation came about, but I recall Shannen Doherty being fairly late to sign on; I love the idea that Shannen might have been like, “Oh, no, you absolutely should not do the show without me, but you absolutely WILL promote the show without me.” It’s the best of all worlds: You get the exposure, the paycheck, and the mental stimulation of work, without any of the small talk or having to stand outside squinting next to Tori Spelling, who is dressed as if she thinks they’re premiering Little Bo Peep, 66103.
