You probably read the news stories about the premiere of Three Thousand Years of Longing over the weekend, as an activist crashed the red carpet to protest sexual violence at the hands of the Russian army in Ukraine. I haven’t included photos of the protest in this slideshow, but I did want to acknowledge it.
As far as film itself goes, it sounds like a bit of a mess, although another piece in Variety felt it was a Best Picture contender, so who really knows? One thing I can tell you is that Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton together on the red carpet feels like a good idea.
