Informative Caption tells me that this was at “National Youth Theatre’s ‘Nostalgic Fantastic’ Fundraising Gala at Creative Production House,” and “National Youth Theatre’s ‘Nostalgic Fantastic’ Fundraising Gala” is a real tongue-twister. On Sunday night, I was rewatching the Keira/Tom Wambsgans Pride and Prejudice (no joke, but Matthew MacFadyen HAS RANGE), which is honestly perfectly cast, and reflecting on how Rosamund Pike made a truly perfect Jane Bennet. She is amazing in Gone Girl, but I think her Jane is my favorite of her roles. Like Meg March, it is easy for Jane to veer sort of….one dimensionally nice, but Pike is so adept in giving her layers. Yes, this movie is over 15 years old and so this particular take is TRULY COLD, but I had to put my thoughts somewhere and I do not yet run a website called Go Fug Your Austen. I do, however, have one where I write dumb stuff about celebrity outfits and therefore I can also note that this dress is almost creepy and she looks pretty cool in it.
