Today’s look is from a Canadian brand called Nonie who sent out a very enthusiastic press release — as well they might!! — letting me know that today’s sleeveless trench is only for sale at their website! I always get a kick out of imagining what it must be like to wake up one morning, and Meghan or Kate has shown up in your dress/coat/bag/charm bracelet/whatever while you sleep, and suddenly the floodgates are open and PEOPLE HIGHLY DESIRE YOUR WARES — or at least this specific ware.  It must be thrilling AND stressful and honestly getting this press release made it way easer for me to write this post, so thanks, Nonie! (Apparently, she’s owned this one for quite a while; the ladies at Meghan’s Mirror have also theorized that this is the hand of Jessica Mulroney at work because Mulroney has worked with Nonie.)

Regardless: I like it. I feel like the trench-dress is a close cousin to the shirt-dress, and you guys know I LOVE a shirt dress. This in fact just reminded me that my own fave shirtdress has been sitting in the dryer for like an hour right now and I better go save it.  While I do that, let me give you some video of today’s event, which was the opening of the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition at the Southbank Centre, which the museum says, “explores the life and times of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (1918 – 2013) and marks the centenary of his birth. It provides insight into Mandela’s journey from young freedom fighter to becoming the inspiration for an international movement against South Africa’s violent and oppressive apartheid system, and an emblem of an ongoing struggle to build a more just and equitable world.” It runs through August and it looks great. (I’ve never been to the Southbank Centre; I’m going to put it on my list for my next trip.)
