Great Gerwig here is hosting a screening of Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, so it seems absolutely right that she’s basically in her PJs. Pee Wee Herman flicks are sleepover classics, and she could only be MORE on-point if she ends the night by playing Light As A Feather, Stiff As A Board — which won’t work, and then at least one person in the circle will say, “My cousin’s friend totally saw it work, they lifted a girl to the ceiling,” and everyone will nod and agree that they haven’t seen it personally but they all for sure know someone who knows someone who definitely witnessed the magic. And then, popcorn.
