Last week, I brought you SO many gourds. But now…now the time has come to get well and truly ready for Halloween. It is October, and we are officially allowed. What better time to indulge in, say, glow-in-the-dark witch tea towels? Or skull-shaped shot glasses? (Or glasses with skulls on them, even.) Or cute little ghost earrings? Or mugs that look like little black cauldrons? (These Great Pumpkin juice glasses might be cheerier, if that’s what you’re in the market for, though.) Or gingerbread haunted houses? What about earrings that look like Halloween cake pops?

It’s also obviously the time of year to get a poseable skeleton, or a giant illuminated “BOO” for your front yard (I confess to loving this), or — okay, look, The Little Mermaid is NOT a Halloween text, but it does seem like the best time for you to get away with a giant inflatable Ursula the Sea Witch. (She IS a witch! Thematic!) This also seems like the place where I should tell you that Wayfair is offering a bunch of Halloween-themed shower curtain, some of which are sincerely….terrifying? This one with little orange and black bats on a white background is VERY cute, though, and won’t give you nightmares, if you are a Holiday Shower Curtain Person…which I hope you are.

Meanwhile, over at West Elm, they’ve gone Full Snake — which, honestly, I enjoy. These snake wine glasses are VERY cool, and I feel like you could use this snake doormat year-round. (Less so this bat one, which has LIGHT UP EYES!) Also: Does your dog need Halloween-themed toys?  Do you know someone who might like a pet ghost in a bottle? Do YOU need some felt bats to affix about your living room? What about some “haunted mushrooms”? (Honestly, they seem cute and kinda seasonless to me!) Target’s offering something they’re calling “Fall Harvest Pop Up Artificial Thanksgiving Tree with Pumpkins”, and it IS fun. Or maybe you need a lifesize Headless Horseman cradling a jack-o-lantern? It’s on sale! For $1049?! Okay, some of this might feel more reasonable:
