Since wearing a satellite dish around her neck in Cannes this past May (for the long-forgotten Eddington), I feel like Emma has had Louis Vuitton dial it back a bit for her. It’s all thin straps, and a progression of more straightforward cuts, no muss, no fuss. This has a little delicate interest at the bottom, but that’s it; I don’t dislike it, but honestly, it feels like a second draft of this outfit from Venice, and I wish they’d actually just merged them instead — say, used that fabric to make this dress. That metallic one is lush, and this one is like half-linen, half-Kleenex. Fortunately, her makeup artist did the BEST work today, and kept the entire thing from washing her out.

Alicia Silverstone took a more dramatic approach with her Carolina Herrera:

I am delighted by her giant gown. I only wish she had a wrap of some kind to distract from the fear that her boobs might eventually go numb from lack of circulation. You’d think SOMEONE at Herrera would’ve tried a top with more structure, so it didn’t look so much like she crafty with a Bed in a Bag.
